Greenway Stoves form modern replacements for traditional mud stoves (chulhas) delivering 65% fuel savings and 70% smoke reduction while working on all solid biomass fuels. Enabling clean cooking for rural households.
Built using our patented air regulation technology, they minimise noxious CO, PM and GHG emissions leading to better health, savings, climate change mitigation and everyday convenience.

Using traditional mud chulhas/indoor open fires contributes as much as 2% of the world's GHG emissions/Climate Change.

4 million deaths per annum are attributed globally to the negative health impact of using traditional chulhas. A quarter of these deaths occur in India alone.

2.8 Billion people cook on chulha and its traditional variants globally; primarily in Asia & Sub-saharan Africa.

In spite of access to modern fuels, low adoption and stoves stacking persists due to affordability and culture.

Women typically bear the drudgery, loss of productive time and health negatives associated with chulhas.

Announcement & Invitation for Stakeholder Consultation

Greenway’s clean cookstoves can play a vital role in eliminating severe health impacts and resource inefficiency arising out of traditional cookstoves. They minimise noxious CO, PM and GHG emissions in the kitchens.  Water purifiers facilitate access to clean drinking water. Leading to better health for women and children, income savings due to low fuel consumption and climate change mitigation by preventing deforestation. Both of these products contribute towards a clean cooking solution for rural households.

To scale up their initiative, Greenway is planning to undertake a programme to ensure nation-wide access of its clean solutions through an innovative financing approach, helping households to overcome barriers like affordability, availability, and financing. Since, the project will contribute in achieving SDGs including, but not limited to, SDG-1: No Poverty, SDG-3: Good Health and Well Being, SDG-5: Gender Equality, SDG-6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG-13: Climate Action, Greenway is applying for registration of its programme under Gold Standard for Global Goals certification. This registration will help Greenway to raise finance for this initiative at a low cost, thereby helping the programme to reach the desired scale.

To communicate the scope of the program, identify needs and concerns of the consumers & discuss economic, social and environmental impacts arising to end-users and communities, Greenway Grameen Infra Private Limited is convening a local stakeholders’ consultation meeting on 18th July 2020 to receive feedback from relevant stakeholders between 3 to 4:30 PM at Vadodara.

To participate in the meeting in person or virtually, please write to us at contact@greenwayappliances.  Alternately, you can read more about this initiative here and give your feedback via this form.
